Nrusingha Chaturdasi Mela is celebrated at Harishankar, in
Balangir District ,
Orissa. It falls on the 14th day of the bright fortnight of Baisakh (April –May), the very same day of the famous
Hariharabheta Jatra of Orissa. The festival is a synthesis of the cult of Hari (
Lord Vishnu) and Sankara (
Lord Shiva).
Thousands of pilgrims gather at this place on this auspicious day and take a dip in the perennial waterfall at Harishankar.
