Nangavaram is situated 18 km north-west of Tiruchirapalli. The ancient Sundareswarar temple and a Pidari temple are situated here. Legend goes that the daughter of a Chola king of Uraiyur was born here with the face of a jackal. However, she won a normal face later through great devotion to the God.
