Millennium Park is a riverside recreational area on Strand Road in Kolkata near BBD Bag covering a vast area. Situated on the banks of the Hooghly River, it was inaugurated on 1st January, 2000.
The railings of the park are built a few inches above the surface of the water. There are several sitting preparations including benches, stools and chains, arranged in rows by the side of the railings. Some cottages with thatched roofs are available inside the park.
Exclusively for the kids, a children’s park consisting of slides, merry-go-round and some other rides is located inside the Millennium Park. In the evening hours soft music is played, which renders mystic touch to this place.
Millennium Park can be visited on a small entrance fee. It is open from 13:00 to 20:00 hrs on all days including holidays.
