Metwan, a small settlement, is in Ladakh region of Kargil District, Jammu and Kashmir. It is located at a height of 8,461 ft above sea level. It is flanked by Shupkanjan in its north and Hawal in the south.
Metwan is an ideal base for the trekkers as it is on the Rangdum - Kishtwar trekking route. By road, Metwan can be approached from
Tongul and Hanzal.
