Mawsmai Falls, an important tourist spot, lies 2 km south of the David Scott Monument at Sohra (Cherrapunjee). It is one among the highest waterfalls in the world and is also known as Nohsngithiang Falls. Situated in the Mawsmai Village, this falls from a height of 1,035 ft, cascades all its way down to join the swift river below, which is a fascinating view. Mawsmai Falls will be in its full grandeur during the monsoon season. The place is also famous for limestone caves, orange, honey and a Center of Khasi Culture and Literature.
