Matheran Toy Train runs between Neral to Matheran (on the Matheran Light Railway). Neral is about 7 km from Matheran as the crow files. Howewer this ideal pleasure trip takes a zigzag route of about 21 km. This narrow gauge toy train ride offers scenic views of the lush green surroundings and hills. The journey takes about one and a half hours. Three small stations called Jumma Patti, Water Pipe and Aman Lodge are on the way.
The train runs between sunrise and sunset. There are four pairs of trains running between Neral and Matheran. During monsoons, as a precautionary measure against slides, the track is partially closed.
