Masilamani Eswarar Temple



Masilamani Eswarar Temple is situated at Tiruvadmullaivayil in Chennai District. The deity of this Shivasthalam is Masilamani Eswarar (Lord Shiva). There is also a worship place for Goddess Kodi-idai Nayagi. Occupying an area of one acre, the temple is adorned with a huge Rajagopuram at the south and a gajaprishta vimana. Inscriptions from the Chola period are preserved in the temple. It is said that sage Sundarar has composed pathigams in favour of the lord Masilamani Eswarar. The main festivals are the annual Brahmotsavam celebrated in the month of Vaikasi (mid May - mid June), and Vasantha Utsavam in Aani (mid June - mid July). The nearest railhead is Ambattur station which is about 3 km away. Chennai is approximately at a distance of 18 km.
