Martoli




Martoli is a picturesque village located at a height of 3,324 m. It is situated 5 km from Rilkot in Pithoragarh District. Martoli holds ruins reminiscent of the ancient the Indo-Tibetan trade.

Martoli River flows through the village. Prominent attractions in and around Martoli are an artificial forest and Gauri Ganga valley. Martoli commands a fascinating view of Nanda Devi Peak, Martoli Peak and Nanda Kot Peak. Nanda Devi National Park, Milam, Panchachuli Glacier, Namik Glacier, Ralam Glacier, Munsiyari, Lilam, Rargari, Mapang and Sarpudyar are nearby tourist destinations. It is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering. Base camps are available here.

The nearest airport is Pant Nagar Airport and the nearest railway station is at Kathgodam.
