Mapang is a picturesque village situated nine km from Rargari in
Pithoragarh District. It lies at an elevation of about 3,100 m on the
Nanda Devi trek route. Beautiful waterfalls are the main attraction of the place. This region has ruins reminisent of the history of the old Indo-Tibetan trade. Mapang offers a fascinating view of snow-clad peaks and deep valleys all around. Nearby interesting destinations include

Martoli and Sarpudyar. It is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering. Base camps are available.
