Milam




Milam is a picturesque village located 15 km from Rilkot in Pithoragarh District. Milam Glacier is situated 3 km from Milam.

During the Janmashtami celebration, a fair is held here. It attracts a large number of villagers. Milam was one of the important centers of the ancient Indo-Tibetan trade. River Gori flows through Milam. It is surrounded by thick forests of rhododendron and juniper. The place provides a panoramic view of Nanda Devi Peak and Trisuli I Peak.

Nearby interesting destinations include Panchachuli Glacier, Namik Glacier, Ralam Glacier, Munsiyari, Lilam, Rargari, Mapang, Martoli and Sarpudyar. It is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering. Base camps are available here.

The nearest airport is Pant Nagar Airport and the nearest railway station is at Kathgodam.
