Makhdoom Mohiuddin

Urdu Poet


Makhdoom Mohiuddin, originally Abu Sayeed Mohammad Makhdoom Mohiuddin Huzri, was a distinguished Urdu poet. Born in a small village near Hyderabad in 1908, he earned a masters degree in 1936 from Osmania University. 'Bisat-e-Raqs' is his most popular work. Makhdoom was an activist of the Communist Party. In 1943, he founded the Progressive Writers’ Union in Hyderabad. He died in 1969.
