The Maheshwar Temple is in Sungra, Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh. On either side of the gateways to the temple, there are excellent wooden panels. On the walls, there are deeply cut images of hindu idols. The avatars of Vishnu and hindu zodiac signs can be seen engraved on the eastern walls. At a short distance from the temple doorway, there is a small stone shrine belonging to the eighth century.
