Lungthung, also spelled Longthu and Lungtu, lies on the road linking Rongli with Nathang, in East Sikkim District of Sikkim. It is around 30 km east of Gangtok.
Perched at an altitude of 11,141 ft, Lungthung offers panoramic view of the mighty mountains, lush green woods and deep valleys. The geographic location of the place makes it a favorite destination for trekkers and hikers.
Lungthung is served by Civil Enclave Bagdogra, at Bagdogra. Helicopter service is available between Gangtok and Bagdogra.
Darjeeling Railway Station, at Darjeeling, is the closest railway station.
