Established in 1878, Lloyd Botanical Garden is located just below the market place in Darjeeling
. It is named after William Lloyd, and has 40 acres of rolling hillside growing different types of flora from eastern and western Himalayas
Charmingly laid-out terraces containing alpine plants, arum lilies, geraniums, azaleas, tree ferns and conifers are a treat to the eyes. The garden is now functioning under the forest department of Government of West Bengal.
