Linshot is a charming village situated at a high altitude of 16,230 ft in Kargil District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 219 km from Srinagar, the state capital.
Linshot is surrounded by Kungi La in the west, Longzaling in the north, Yelchang in the east and Kushol in the south. It lies to the north of Rulagung and is near to the Sapphire mines. Several large masses of black limestone are found here.
Linshot is accessible from Abring (30 km) and Kargil. The nearest railway station is at Jammu (250 km).
