Situated at an altitude of 3,846 m above sea level, Lalung is a hilly area in Kargil District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 173 km from Srinagar.
Lalung Glacier lies in this area and the place offers panoramic views of snow clad peaks. Lalung is a base camp for the trekking enthusiasts who are on their way to the Z-2 Peak (6152 m) via Kargil.
Lalung lies around 50 km south of Kargil.
