Situated close to Mahewa village in Jhansi District, Lakheri Dam, 11 m high, is one of the dams in Uttar Pradesh. Through the main canal 9 km long, this dam provides irrigation to more than 13 villages in the region. It is the major source of water in Garautha tehsil. The dam is 4880 m long and is the major water source as well for about 21 km range. The nearest airport is at Gwalior.
