Kunore, a small settlement in Kargil District, is about 143 km from Srinagar – the state capital of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies to the south-west of Kargil and is at an altitude of 3,663 m above sea level.
Khibar and Chulati are about 12 km from Kunore towards the west and east. Lomba is about 11 km south. Kunore is an ideal base camp for trekkers.
Kunore can be easily approached from Srinagar via Pahalgam.
