Kudamurutti River



Kudamurutti River is one of the five sacred rivers flows within 5 km range of Thiruvaiyaru in Thanjavur District. During ancient period, this river was popularly known as Kaduvaai. Kudamurutti River joins the Cauvery River at Tiruchirapalli. The river is related to the famous saint Sri Narayana Tirth who is believed to have been attained enlightenment here. An ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is located on the banks of the Kudumurutti River.
