Korayar River

The Korayar is one among the tributaries of the Tamiraparani. It has its origin on the eastern slopes of Western Ghats. The river flows northward and merges with the Tamiraparani near the Vellanguli village of Ambasamudram taluk. Though the river has no direct irrigation areas, it contributes a heavy flood of water to its main river during the monsoon seasons.
