Kithar is located in Thathri area of Doda District, Jammu and Kashmir. It is placed at an altitude of about 2,944 m above sea level and is at a distance of about ten kilometers from Kuta.
Kithar is flanked by Devigol in the west and Chito in the east. The northern and southern parts are covered by Aphen and Mano respectively. The region also offers many short treks and hikes to upland villages.
Kithar is accessible by road from Chali as well as from Chishot.
