Khunda is a small settlement lying in Kargil District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 147 km from Srinagar and is at an altitude of 9,977 ft above sea level. Ishmam is about 3 km from Khunda and is to the north-west of Kargil. Kakshar and Sumedar are six kilometers apart towards the west and south.
