Khuded and Pawada Songs

Khuded is a folk song predominantly sung in Tehri Garhwal District of Uttaranchal. This particular variety of song portrays the sufferings of a woman, whose husband is faraway. In this song she curses the circumstances that lead to the separation. This situation usually pertains to the rural women, whose husbands leave the village to seek jobs in the cities.

On similar lines is the Pawada song which depicts the sadness of a woman whose husband has gone for a war.
