Started in 1948 at Kolkata, the Kashmir Government Arts Emporium is a Jammu and Kashmir government owned enterprise. There is an exotic collection of local handicraft and handloom items of Kashmir. The emporium deals in hand woven carpets in wool and silk, floor rugs, curtains, hand knotted rugs, cushion covers, bed covers, bed sheets, embroidered bags, salwar suits in cotton and wool, a variety of woolen shawls and handicraft items of papier mache like flower vases. It has another branch in Dakhinapan Shopping Complex on Gariahat Road at Kolkata.
