Kangi is surrounded by Hensikut in the west, Bod Kharbu in the north and Ampultun in the south. Mulbekh Gompa, Mulbekh Chamba and Futu La are the local attractions outside the town.

Kangi can be approached easily from Chispiyanzan and Mulbekh. Jammu Tawi Railway Station, which is on the Jammu (254 km) – Pathankot line, serves this place. The nearest airport is at Srinagar.
