Kala Amb, which literally means 'Black Mango', is a historic site situated 5 km south of Panipat in Haryana. The place assumes prominence as it was site of the third war of Panipat, which took place between the Marathas and Afghans in 1761 AD. An obelisk stands here as a memorial to this historic event.
