Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research




Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research was established in 1989 by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The main campus is located at Jakkur on the Bangalore-Hyderabad highway, about 11 km from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) campus.

This center promotes scientific research in the areas of science and engineering. Research areas include chemistry and physics of materials, engineering mechanics, evolutionary and organism biology, molecular biology and genetics, theoretical sciences, chemical biology, condensed matter theory, education technology and geodynamics. This deemed university offers doctorate programs in science and engineering.
