Jata is a small town situated close to Garhwa in Garhwa District of Jharkhand. The state highway connecting Ranka Kalan and Garhwa passes very close to this place. Tildag, Bikhahi, Korta, Chama and Chiraunjia are nearby localities.
The place, with its scenic beauty and calm atmosphere, is an ideal haunt for tourists. The major spots worth visiting are Gulgulpath (3819 ft), the second highest peak in Jharkhand, Saruat village and the Parasdiha and Gursandhu falls.
