Indira Gandhi Zoological Park is situated on the
Eastern Ghats, bordered by hills on either side and the Bay of Bengal on the east. It is located about 4 km from Visakhapatnam on the
National Highway 5 at Mathurawada. The park has more than 80 wild species including primates, carnivores, lesser carnivores, small mammals, reptiles, ungulates and birds. A mini-train is available for the visitors to watch the wildlife.
The zoo is open on all days except Mondays, from 09:00 to 17:00 hrs.
