Established in 1966, Indira Gandhi Medical College offers post graduate courses in 16 specialties and PG diploma courses in 8 specialties with an intake capacity of 35 seats in the degree and 18 seats in the diploma courses. Contemporary medical amenities in radiotherapy, neurology, plastic surgery, pediatrics surgery, obst and gynae, neonatology, urology, neuro-surgery, gastroentology, ENT, radiology, orthopedics, medicine, chests and TB, surgery, cardiology and ophthalmology are also available. Also, the college provides training to nurses, radiographers, O.T. assistants, para medical ophthalmic assistants and laboratory technicians. Facilities include fiber optic endoscopy, C.T. scan equipment, closed heart surgery including pace maker insertion. An AIDS surveillance centre is also functions along with the hospital. Hostel facilities are also available.
