Placed at an elevation of 9,179 ft above sea level, Grantung is a beautiful village in Kargil District. It is 146 km away from Srinagar– the state capital of Jammu and Kashmir and is about nine kilometers south of Kargil.
Kharbu is located to the west, Sumedar to the north, Zamshung to the east and Kunore to the south. Grantung offers immense scope for mountaineering and trekking.
