Located near Kalasheswara Temple in Kalasa, Girijamba Temple is built in honour of Girijamba who is thought to have come from Varanasi to marry Lord Shiva.
Girija kalyana (Giri-Kalyanotsava), the annual festival celebrated to commemorate the wedding of Shiva and Girija, is held for two days just after Diwali. Gold idol of the deity is displayed during this time.
