Fekamari



Fekamari is a small border village under Dhubri District of the extreme south western part of Assam. The village has a land area of 97 sq km and has a population of 1,01,747. It is bounded by South Salmara in the north, West Garo Hills District in the east, Mankachar in the south and Bangladesh in the west.

Devastating flood and large scale erosion are quite common here. Some of the villages in the area surrounding Fekamari are Bhurakata, Kukurmara, Manullapara, Purandiara, Kanaimara, Fulerchar, Barairalga, Maliralga, Sukchar, Molakhowa, Gotabari-Khopatia, Katholbari and Hazirhat. The communication of Fekamari with Dhubri is by road cum river route via Phulbari (inMeghalaya).
