Erode Government Museum, established in 1987, is located at the Municipal Office Campus in Erode. It displays an assortment of specimens relating to art, archaeology, anthropology, numismatics, philately, botany, zoology and geology. Collections include inscriptions of Kongu Chola, hero stones from Bargur, Thanjavur paintings, manuscripts, coins and Kodumanal antiques.
Government museum is open from 09:30 to 17:00 hrs on all days except Fridays, Second Saturdays and national holidays.
