Dera of Baba Sarsai Nath



Dera Baba Sarsai Nath is an ancient shrine located at Sirsa, outside Hissar Gate, in Haryana. It is beleved to have been built in the 13th century by Sarsai Nath, a saint of Nath sect.

The shrine is associated with the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan , who donated land to the temple. He visited the Dera Baba Sarsai Nath for blessings for his ailing son. The beautiful dome of the shrine was also built by him.

Temples of Lord Shiva and Goddess Durga are also seen in the premises of the Dera. According to the inscription of King Bhoja (the Pratihara Ruler), a saint of Pashupati sect constructed the Shiva temple. The temple is made of burnt bricks and thick slabs of stones with a golden Shikhara.

To access Dera of Baba Sarsai Nath, devotees can choose both Sirsa Railway Station and Sirsa Bus Station.
