Chutia is situated in Sonitpur District of Assam. The town has Jamuguri (11 km) in the west, Bishnath (14 km) in the east and Jakhalabandha (15 km) in the south. Nearby prime attraction is the Nag-Sankar Temple, a famous 4th century shrine, situated to the east of Tezpur.
