Chandrakala Mithai

Chandrakala Mithai is a traditional Holi sweet popular in the Kumaon region. This delicacy is also known as 'mawa khaja' in some parts of the country. This stuffed dumpling of refined flour is deep-fried and coated with sugar syrup. The outer crust has a rich mixture of dry fruits, pure ghee and sugar and appeals to young and old alike. It bears an ornamental ring of twisted outers that provide it a different look. The coconut powder mixed with khoya and dry fruits provide it a unique taste.
