Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, was established in 1975. This State University was created with the merger of two colleges, the erstwhile Government Agriculture College, Kanpur and Uttar Pradesh College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Mathura. It serves the farming community spread over 28 district of six divisions of Uttar Pradesh.
The university has three faculties, namely, faculty of agriculture and home science at Kanpur and faculty of agricultural engineering and technology at Etawah. It has established the Directorate of Placement which looks after the placement activities.
The university is about 8 km north-west of Kanpur Central Railway Station and Kanpur Central Bus Station.
