Chandra Shekhar Azad Park

Chandra Shekhar Azad Park is located behind Allahabad Museum in Allahabad of Uttar Pradesh.

The park was built to commemorate the visit of Prince Alfred, the Duke of Edinburgh, to Allahabad. Hence it was earlier known as Alfred Park. It got its present name from Chandra Shekhar Azad, a patriotic leader who sacrificed his life here.

A public library, with over 75,000 books and valuable manuscripts, is attached to the park. In the center of the park is Mahmana Madan Mohan Malaviya, a stadium, where important matches are played. Another highlight is a statue of Chandra Shekar Azad. Colonial style buildings can also be seen here.
