British Council Library, situated at Kolkata, West Bengal, is one of the eleven branches in India. It offers a large collection of books for lending and has reference service in addition to the electronic media center with provision for internet access. The library is modelled on the pattern of British public libraries and offers the best reading materials published in UK. It also offers access to information online and has books on economics, engineering, information technology, law, management, medicine, and science and technology. It also holds educational videos, home videos, periodicals, and newspapers from UK. The library remains open from 11 00 to 19 00 hrs from Monday to Saturday.
