Boat Island is situated on the south-western end of Tarmugli Island in the Bay of Bengal. It is at an altitude of about 27 m from the sea level.
Rich in coral and marine life, the island is ideal for snorkeling, diving and under water photography. Malay Island, lying about 5 km east of Boat Island is worth visiting.
Boat Island can be approached from Port Blair in Andaman District.
