Black Giant Squirrel



The Black Giant Squirrel (Ratufa bicolor) is a black squirrel with characteristic coloring. It has short, round ears, pale yellow underside, and a black back. The feet have strong claws and are quite broad. The squirrel can reach a foot and a half in length, with another foot for the tail. It weighs up to four and a half pounds. The diet consists of fruit, nuts, bark, insects, and birds' eggs. The animal can be seen in the Kaziranga National Park, Assam.
