25 km from Bhilwara on the Bhilwara Deoli road, Benera is famous for its fortress and palace of the ex-jagirdars of Benera. It was the chief town during the princely rule. Akbar, the Mughal king, captured Banera in 1567. This place is described in the Ani-I-Akbari as one of the twenty-six Mahals.
