Bale Muhurta

Bale Muhurta is one among the 4 main rituals of Paryaya festival celebrated in Udupi District of Karnataka. For the daily services in Krishna Mutt, a large amount of tulsi leaves are used. The Mutt priests first pray to the nine planets, on the day of the Muhurta. Then a procession takes place, in which the Mutt workers carry tulsi and plantain seedlings to Krishna Mutt. Before the procession enters Krishna Mutt, prayers are first offered in the Chandreswara and Anantheswara temples. The workers then return to their Mutt after offering prayers to Sri Hanuman and Sri Madhavacharya. They also offer coins and pray before the idol of Krishna.
