Ating



Ating is a charming village in Kargil District of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies near Zongkhul and can be easily accessed from there. Tungri is around 12 km from Ating and Huttra is 24 km away.

Perched at an altitude of 14,038 ft above the sea level, the place, with its many hiking trails, has long been a haven for trekkers and climbers. Sumchum Gompa in the west, Phe in the north, Pidmu in the east and Tungring in the south encircle Ating from four major sides. Zongkhul Monastery is a nearby attraction.

Ating can be easily reached as it is on the Padum - Kishtwar trekking route. By road, the place is accessible from Rulagung by private vehicles.
