Established in 2001 by Thirunavukkarasu Dhanalakshmi Educational and Charitable Trust, Arasu Engineering College is approved by the Government of Tamil Nadu and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE.) The college offers 4-year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree courses in Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunication, Electrical and Electronics, and Information Technology. With a built-up area of 1,20,000 sq ft, it has modern laboratories, class rooms, computer centers, library, workshops, sports facilities, hostels, and canteen. The college also provides an active placement cell to assist students to get better opportunities. The college offers scholarship for eligible students.
The college is located at Kumbakonam, the famous temple town of South India. Tiruchirapalli Airport is about 95 km from Kumbakonam.
