Amharkhas is situated in Garhwa District of Jharkhand, near the state highway connecting Nagar Untari and Meral. The town is surrounded by cities and villages such as Ramna, Sangrahe Khurd, Adar, Arsali, Jangipur, Sagma and Silidag.
The railway line connecting Ramna and Chiraunjia passes very close to this village. Parasdih Waterfalls, Bhagvathi Temple, Chaibasa, Noamundi and Jagannathpur are easily accessible form here.
Ranchi Airport and Kandposi Railway Station are the nearest major airport and railway station respectively.
