Rakshit Bari is a memorial building dedicated to the freedom fighters of West Bengal. This building is situated at Tamluk, in Midnapore District. The famous Bargabhima Temple, built in Orissan style of architecture, is situated adjacent to Rakshit Bari.
Rakshit Bari was originally a gymnasium frequented by young men. This place also doubled as a centre for inspiring the young men to fight against the British government for acquiring freedom. Many men who patronized this gymnasium went on to become freedom fighters of great repute.
