Dantan



Dantan is a large village situated on the Orissa Trunk Road, about 65 km away from the south of Midnapore town. There is a railway station of the same name, which lies on the South Eastern Railway in Howrah-Puri section. The village has two large tanks namely Bidyadhar and Sarsankha. There are a number of temples which are associated with king Sasanka. Among these, the most famous is an ancient Shiva temple called Syamaleshwar Temple.
