Phanu is a garhwali dish which can be made from the paste of various pulses like Gahat, Arhar or green Mung. Since it is a mixture of different pulses, it is rich in protein and like any other pahari dish, it is very simple and easy to prepare. It is similar to ‘khadi’ in appearance but its taste is totally different from 'khadi'.
